Creating Clips

Choose a source, understand the limits and estimate, then generate highlights or import a clip.

Open Create a clip from the Dashboard or sidebar. Start with either a link or an original video file.

Paste a link

Use Paste link for a supported Twitch, YouTube, or Kick video or clip. A recorded video uses AI Highlights; a clip is imported as-is.

For a YouTube recording, connect the YouTube channel that owns the video when VodClip asks. Some source links can still be unavailable from the provider, so uploading your original file is the most reliable fallback.

Upload a file

Use Upload file for an original MP4, WebM, or MOV up to 5 GiB. VodClip reads the file locally first so you can confirm the duration and preview before upload begins.

Choose one of two modes:

  • AI Highlights finds moments in a recording. Pick the number of clips and maximum clip length after VodClip reads the duration.
  • Import / Edit only brings one existing clip into your workspace. The current beta limits are shown in the product before you confirm.

Review the estimate

The estimate changes with the number of clips, target length, and selected processing mode. Review it before you confirm. The product will show an actionable message if your balance or source does not meet the requirements.

When processing finishes

Follow the job in Processing activity. Finished work appears in the Library and Recent clips, where you can open the editor or Studio.

Troubleshooting

  • Check that the link is a recorded video or clip, not a private or inaccessible page.
  • Use the original file if a provider link cannot be retrieved.
  • If a job needs another attempt, read its status message before retrying rather than assuming the same cause.
